While not all of them are likable, they dominate the series with complex character arcs. Here are the top 5 characters in “Yellowstone”.

Top 5 Best Yellowstone Characters Ranked! From Beth Dutton To Jimmy Hurdstram, TheseCharacters Steal The Show Leaving Their Fans Wanting For More

Beth Dutton

Most viewers have a love-hate relationship with Beth Dutton. But Kelly Rielly did a wonderful job highlighting the complexity of this character. Her performance creates the perfect woman who can be both tough and gentle when needed. She is Dutton’s only daughter and is cold, determined, intimidating, and extremely calculating. Some might even call her heartless. But when it comes to the people she loves, she’s willing to tone things down and go above and beyond for them.

Rip Wheeler

Rip Wheeler is a rancher at Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. He was an orphan and was adopted by John Dutton, who gave him a place to live and grow up. This makes Rip extremely loyal to John. Rip was also the lover and eventual husband of Beth Dutton. His character’s backstory is simple – a giant lover with occasional violent outbursts used only to protect the Dutton family and their farm.

Kayce Dutton

While Rip Wheeler may be the simplest character in “Yellowstone” in terms of personality, Kayce Dutton is actually the standard character in terms of canon. He is a loving husband, father, son and brother, always trying to protect the interests of those he loves despite facing his inner demons. Kayce is John’s youngest son and a former Navy SEAL. He’s compassionate, humble, respectful, and the only character on this show who doesn’t have a plot.

John Dutton

Kevin Costner’s character, John Dutton, is the owner of the Dutton Yellowstone Ranch and the patriarch of the Dutton family. John is a widower, lost his wife early and had to raise his children on his own. He is calm, cool, strong and doesn’t take any pressure. That’s exactly why he’s kept the farm and his family together.

Jimmy Hurdstram

Jimmy Hurdstram is a low-level farm worker at the Yellowstone ranch who was formerly a drug dealer and has changed his ways for the better. While Jimmy may not be one of the main characters of the show, he is definitely one of the most popular characters. He has a wholesome, down-to-earth personality that most viewers can relate to. There is no animosity in his character and he is just a farm boy trying to mend his ways and get better.

“Yellowstone” currently has five seasons and the second part of the fifth season is expected to premiere in November 2024.
